Fizzy drinks link to heart disease and cancer
I imagine most people drink fizz. There have been so many stories over the last few years linking fizzy drinks to different types of cancer, diabetes and heart disease is the latest. There is obviously no solid proof because there has been no official warning. I drink fizz every day (no more than 2 cans). How much fizz do you drink? Does anyone take these stories seriously?

Re: Fizzy drinks link to heart disease and cancerWas going to reply with exactly this.(Original post by gozatron)
Pretty much anything these days has been tenuously linked to giving you cancer.
So no, I don't take any of this seriously. Everything in moderation. -
Re: Fizzy drinks link to heart disease and cancerIt doesn't take a genius to conclude that 2 cans of sugary fizzy drink a day probably isn't great for you (probably the same for diet ones with sweeteners too), but that doesn't mean it's going to give you cancer. I don't see how they could prove that it does. If you're worried about it just use common sense, everything in moderation; as long as you're generally healthy/ exercise I wouldn't have thought a coke here or there is gonna hurt!(Original post by shirley7)

(If you're talking about sugary drinks, I think it has been proven that having too much sugar in your diet can be linked with heart disease and diabetes, though)Last edited by jennifex; 15-05-2012 at 19:23. -
Re: Fizzy drinks link to heart disease and cancer
i dont buy it every week, but probably a 2litre bottle of either pepsi max or sprite/7up over the course of the week when i buy it. and i dont listen to those stories as everything will kill you accoridng to these reports so i usually just ignore it all.
