Help with OCR Biology F211 F212 and AQA LAW02!
Hi everyone, my exams start next month, have already started revising for the F211 exam as I am resittng (I got a D ) but I'm finding it really hard going. I'm a mature student (28) and I've got 2 small kids at home so I'm really stuck for time!

Can anyone give me any tips on maximising the time I have for revision? Any help on the subject would be fantastic also!

Also can anyone give me any advice on LAW02? I got an A in LAW01 and found it really easy to revise for (am more than happy to share notes if anyone would like them) but LAW02 paper is completely different and I'm struggling with applying the law to the scenario!

Any help or advice would be great!!!

    Thanks
    xxx xxx

    Some resources for you:

    - These are past paper questions from the old spec - v. useful to go through; they often re-use questions from further back;
    - More recent past papers and their respective markschemes

Also, thread like this from previous years should set you up for how to go about revising topics. Personally, I find going through the specification and highlighting any points you can't recall in red, ones you can in green, and ones you can but only vaguely in amber. I tend to go through and make revision 'cards' on each of the topics I'm unsure on and attempt past paper questions on the ones I am. After you've got through that, do as many past papers as possible; it really sets you up for the 'format' of the exam and means you're less likely to panic. Getting to know your way around markschemes is also key - noting which phrases and common misconceptions flag up each year means you're less likely to lose silly marks (which are often what cause the difference between an A and B!)

Hope this helps a bit, best of luck for the 14th :jumphug:

Thank you! Yes, we are also doing criminal and tort, our teacher decided not to cover contract until next year. I'm finding tort a lot more confusing than criminal so I may msg you for advice!

    Thanks for replying xx

Thank you that is really helpful,I've got all the specs so I will go through them this afternoon. I've just printed off the markscheme for the F211 exam that I bombed and you're right, I lost so many marks for silly things.

thanks very much for replying, I will look through all the links now xx

    hey!

How did you get an A on law01? Im struggling with it at the moment!

Hi, law is ok to revise for because a lot of it is just common sense. The way I studied for it was by taking the most practical approach, you already know which sections you want to answer ahead of time (I did delegated legislation and judicial precedent for section A and criminal courts for section B, everyone else in the class did parliamentary law making instead of JP) then I went through as many past papers as I could get my hands on and looked at all the possible questions that could come up for each section (not as many as you think!)

Then I wrote out the answers for each one and got my teacher to mark them to make sure they hit the 10 marks. I can’t learn big chunks of texts so I condensed them down in to bullet points and tested myself by trying to rewrite the essays from memory by remembering the key points and building the answer around them.

That’s how it made sense to me, otherwise its just trying to learn great big chunks of info which is impossible!!!
I’ve attached my final revision notes for LAW01, all the bullet pointed answers, have a look through and see if they help. xx
