GCSE Dual Science, Exams A*, but Coursework B/C
Hi guys! I'm currently doing my GCSES, and I'm getting all A* in all my Science modules, but my coursework is B/C. Would it still be possible to get an A/A* overall? I want to do medicine and I'm really worried that my coursework will significantly bring my grade down.

First year of GCSE - All three modules are worth 25%.
Second year of GCSE - All three modules are worth 50%.
    Coursework is worth 25%.

75% is exams, 25% is coursework - yes it could.

I've forgotten to mention that I'm doing the Edexcel specification, where exams are worth 60%, coursework is worth 30% and practical skills are worth the remaining 10%.

I am going to be honest with you. 30% is a big chunk. You say you are borderlining on B/C for coursework. I think an A is still achievable, but an A* may be a bit out of reach, unless you can make any alterations to your coursework.

Has your coursework been sent off already? Maybe if you can, make a last minute enquiry to see if you can do anything at the last minute to pull up your coursework mark. It may be too late, as I know coursework has to be sent off very soon, but it's worth a try if possible to explain to your teacher and see if it is at all possible to improve your coursework.

However, if you can't, it's not a massive deal. An A is great, and GCSE's aren't going to be looked at that much. A Levels is where it really matters. Good luck!

Thank you for your advice. I got my results for coursework and I got a B in Core Science, and a B in Additional Science. I got A*'s in my core science exams, and my additional science exams are coming up for which I hope to receive A*'s as well.
