    Re: Name?
Why not just set up a new email address? It probably wouldn't have taken much more time than it took you to write this thread and would have the same effect.

Lol that's the problem I have set up a new email address

my old one had my name in it so I couldn't do anything about it.

Gmail requires you to add your name when registering, I can edit that name to something else but I was wondering if there is an option i.e. high name from email
Wait, so you made an email address for sending emails anonymously, and put your actual name in?

But yeah, I've never heard of such an option. If you know how to edit your name, just change it to batman or something.

Is it possible to hide your name when sending an email?

I hate the fact that I have to send emails to request things i.e. extra tuition to my friends mum but I want to email her asking for prices etc...

If it turns out to be expensive, I ain't going to go and it would be awarked in real life where as if my name is hidden, I could contact her and then she won't know its me.

The name appears when you send an email

    From: (Heskey) example@hotmail.co.uk
    Subject: Example
There's a feature in hotmail called alias which allows you to send and receive messages from your real account, but your recipient only sees your alias, not your actual email address, which is useful is you have your name in your email. Problem is that your account name is still shown but you can change your account name in options to something unrecognisable like initials. Id imagine Gmail would have something similar.
