Hello all
I'm going to Cambridge to read English Literature from October. At the moment I am in Paris working on my French and loving it. I'd really like to apply for a job abroad for next summer (ideally in France, but I'm happy to experience a different country and culture generally).

I'm considering any of the following fields:
-Journalism
-Finance/Management (I don't think I'll like this but I want to give it a try!)
-Publishing
-Law
-Anything in development or aid (ie. work with an NGO or charity)
-Anything in a museum, gallery or university which would be educational or develop some sort of skill (ie. not just working at the ticket office or as a guide)

It's a pretty open list, but except for working at a bookshop I have little experience of the world of work so I want to be open to different things.
I don't mind if I don't make much money (I should be working in my other holidays for in order to make money) but it would be good to have travel and/or living expenses paid.

So I guess my question is where do I start? Can somebody reccomend any good companies or placements? What's the best way to apply?
Also, if you have any other fields or type of work to suggest I'd love to hear them

Loads of 1st year students I knew did their summer with Camp America. Not sure if it will fit your bill, but I am sure there will be people on this site who could tell you more about it!
