dropit's attempt to.. keep dropping
Hey everyone. I doubt many people will read this.. I'm mainly starting up a blog here to keep myself motivated.
Start weight:183lbs
Current weight: 145 [-38lbs]
I am 5'8".
My name is Kay.
I've always seen myself as fat but I never had the motivation to do anything about it until I realised just how much weight I'd put on during sixth form.
I got properly motivated at the beginning of 2012, thought 'to hell with it' and joined in with TSR's transformation contest. The people on here were great and really friendly. The contest helped me stay focused even though I drifted a little during the last two weeks.
..But I ended up with third place female and I'm eternally grateful for that (thanks guys!). I'm setting up this blog thanks to the persuasion of a few fellow contestants.
My goal was fat loss, but now I'm focusing more on toning up.
Measurements Change
boobs - 106cm to 94cm [-14cm]
waist - 88cm to 73cm [-15cm]
hips - 110cm to 92cm [-18cm]
upper arm - 30cm to 25cm [-5cm]
thighs - 65cm to 60cm [-5cm]
calves - 44cm to 36cm [-8cm]
Bra size: 32 inch (back size) to 28 - 30 inches (depending on brand..).
PROGRESS: JANUARY TO MARCH
183lbs to 160lbs [-23lbs]
Spoiler:Show
Before and After Photos

I did this pretty much just by eating better... Not buying junk food = not eating junk food. Other than some long walks I didn't exercise a great deal. :/
PROGRESS: APRIL TO JUNE
160lbs to 146lbs [-14lbs]
Spoiler:ShowI AM A STUDENT AND, AS SUCH, RARELY DO MY WASHING. I AM AWARE MY UNDERWEAR IS HORRIBLY MISMATCHED AND HAS THE COOKIE MONSTER ON IT. Good day.

PROGRESS: JUNE TO JULY
Still around 146lbs but working on toning
Spoiler:Show

AUGUST plan:
- Complete the 30 day shred (bonus points if I don't skip any days)
- Burn at least 450 calories biking every evening (~40 mins)
- Try to reach 139lbs, but I'm focusing more on my measurements this month
My long-term goals:
- Be 137lbs by beginning of September for wedding
- Be 120lbs by October
I'll try to update this thing at least on a weekly basis, as I weigh in every week.
LET THE PROGRESS CONTINUE!Last edited by dropit; 05-08-2012 at 12:30. -

Re: dropit's attempt to.. keep dropping
19th April:
Went well! Stuck to my diet and stayed within my limit for the day. Drank so much water I swear I was going to the bathroom every 20 minutes. =.=
20th April:
Went to the gym in my accommodation building.. It's the first time I've been in a gym for over a year, haha! Was there for half an hour. Did 25 minutes at a decent speed/resistance on the stationary bike. Spent the other 5 minutes on the, uh, leg-weight-lifty-thing. I am not very good at weights.

Hey, if you've not been to the gym in that long then expect to have some progress to make
Anyway, so long as you're getting better, you can't complain at the level you're at
Keep it up

Re: dropit's attempt to.. keep dropping
Stuck to my diet 100%.. Been to the gym once more. Admittedly I could put more effort into visiting the gym, but I'm mostly panicking about the workload at the minute.
I have a test in one day that I've been revising madly for. I also have a 30 page project and a formal lab report due for the end of next week.. And then there's my final exams to revise for. Bah.
..However, after my exams I have three months of nothing to do.
Definitely going to go at least three times a week. Also, when I go home I have a bike so I'm going to do a bike ride in the mornings like I used to.
Exciting news: I've gone down another jeans size. I can now fit into my smallest pair of jeans.. So I guess I'll have to start buying new clothes from here on out.
So that's at least 2" off my hips. Progress feels so much better like this, as opposed to numbers on a scale. Makes me feel like I'm actually making progress.

Re: dropit's attempt to.. keep droppingLol, thank you. I find it pretty hard to believe though; I still have a looong way to go.(Original post by CJKay)
Guess I'll be the first to say the second picture is actually pretty damn se- er... never mind.
Keep up the good work.
Down 2lbs this week! So that puts me at -27lbs. I'm only 6lbs away from 140 which is my first major goal so I'm looking forward to that! Bring on the holidays.

Re: dropit's attempt to.. keep dropping
Hmm.. Lost another 2lbs. Not sure how that happened, lol. May have been because I've just finished my 'time of the month' - last month I dropped 4lbs too.

Not gonna complain - that puts me down to 29lbs lost. Only 4lbs away from my first major goal.
Also updated my measurements because I haven't done so for a few months - lost a couple of cm from my hips/waist/boobs/legs. Also a bit from my upper arms. I wish my bra size would decrease more! :[

Re: dropit's attempt to.. keep droppingYou're doing so well! So close to your first major goal!(Original post by dropit)

I would be doing a blog like I said, but finding term time just too manic. Rest assured I'm doing a hell of a lot of exercise though - I'm in the 1st boat for my college still, which was one of my original aims from the start of the competition, and means that we have about 9 training sessions a week! Don't think I've lost much more weight, but definitely the fittest I've ever been

And well done! That's great!
I can relate, though. My final exams are in 2 weeks time so I probably won't be updating this blog very much between now and then... But remember, it's your personal blog so you can be as lazy with it as you like!
I'm really happy for you!

Re: dropit's attempt to.. keep dropping
Didn't lose this week... Got kinda drunk and had a takeaway on Thursday/Friday (two days because I got way too much food haha). Only 3lbs from my goal of 140, though.
Today went well and the next 2 weeks (at least, I'm determined) will go well too.
Won't be able to update much because I have a lot of exams/lab reports due in the next 2 weeks. I'm buried in work! ): -
Re: dropit's attempt to.. keep dropping
Woo, finally finished my exams. Hopefully they all went alright...
I've updated my measurements. Lost a few cm pretty much all over. Looks like the exercise is paying off.
A few weeks ago I got new scales (digital!) and they said I was, er, 10lbs heavier than my other scales did.
I've decided to stick to these but I've updated my start weight to reflect this change. D'oh.
It just means this: my start weight was 183 not 173 and my current weight was 10lbs heavier. The difference in weight stays the same (still lost the same amount).
The last time I logged here I weighed in as 143 (so, 153 in light of my new scales). Today I weigh at 144 so although it's 1lb heavier than I'd previously stated, it's actually 9lbs lost.
Okay, now to get back on track! 144 is only 4lbs away from my goal of 140, woo! Going on holiday in 2.5weeks so hopefully I'll be able to meet my goal.
EDIT:
ooooh, also also also: I felt like sharing a photo with you guys.
Spoiler:Show
These jeans used to be verging on 'too small' and now they're way too baggy. Also gone down 3 notches on my belt.

Hope your exams went well - despite the procrastination.
Also hope you've been keeping up with the gymnastics! You're awesome at it.

As I type this I am sat eating pizza and drinking coke. My diet is going brilliantly so far
Might upload a new before/after photo for April -> June (since I did one for Jan -> March and 3 months seems like a decent increment) but I'm so ashamed of the 'before' photo. And the current one too.
Blah.
Can't get much worse than my photo from January though, I guess.. -

Yeah motivation pics are winners! I came across my January AND last JUNE pics... needless to say they made me feel better despite having put on a couple of pounds!
As silly as it sounds, why don't you give yourself a week to get the diet straightened out and then see how you feel about a pic? Even in January I worked really hard the week before my start pics, because I was so damn conscious about how I looked, which is silly because it was all about how much you changed! But yeah, I would rather have seen less of a change overall than start pics where I felt awful
Maybe I'll do some too if I manage to sort myself over the next week
That way I can do end of May - end of July pics
(That's my current target time frame)

Re: dropit's attempt to.. keep droppinghaha, yes.(Original post by shorty.loves.angels)

And I've reached a weight where I feel like I'm actually making progress - a lot of the weight at the start was water weight or weight from places I care less about. Now that I'm almost at 140 I feel like I'll see a bigger difference between now and, say, 120 than I will have seen between 160 and 140.
It's starting to drop off my thighs and stomach I think! Fingers crossed.
You should totally post some! I wouldn't have if it weren't for the contest which MADE me post underwear pics. Then I thought 'to hell with it, they're already on the internet, I may as well carry on now'.
Plus it's pretty anonymous on here.
I bit the bullet and posted them up.
I'm trying to be honest during my weight loss so if I look a bit chubbier in the photo because of the pizza then it's my own fault. And hey, it'll make my next progress photo look even better!
I just wanna keep consistent with the 3 month progress pics because at the end of my weight loss journey I want something to look back on.
Honestly, you should do it. (: People are really nice and supportive on here. Thanks for always posting on my blog, btw. It's nice to have someone to talk to about stuff.
