Would the world be better off without....
    The Internet and telecommunications?

I often think about how much more socialized we would be if there was no technology that could connect you to people distances away. Would they be more community spirit? Would people visit each other in their homes for a real conversation instead of posting nonsense on each other's feeds? Would people build real friendships instead of trying to be part of a certain scene?

Obviously, there would be big implications for the economy. But would it be even that bad for the average joe? Business would be slower so shareholders would be poorer (big deal), but surely the community spirit would be much better?

There is nothing wrong with the technology, but there are definitely problems with how people use it.

    No.

    1) Millions of independent traders would lose vast amounts of business
    2) Relationships that have been established then had a distance put between them would suffer
    3) I don't want to have to buy porn on DVD
