Re: Aqa his2k exam.... Tuesday 22nd may??
It's really important to know all the sections because there is no choice on the source-based question.
If I was to hazard any sort of prediction, I would say that Foreign Policy is unlikely to come up as it has done so for the past 3 papers. In January 2012, neither Consolidation of Power nor Downfall topics came up so I reckon at least one of those will come up in one form or another, possibly both.
It's a tough exam, so good luck to us all I say! We'll all need it!

Just done the paper now.
Hated the source question. Nobody I spoke to, myself included, could find a similarity between the two souces - at least source C gave lots to go on for the 24 marker (e.g. IMI (Dec 1931), IRI (Jan 1931), costs of foreign policy (e.g. Abyssinia and Spain where 4000 casulaties and 8bn lire cost). Things I also decided to mention were: early successes with the economic battles (particularly for Lira (1926) and grain (1925)), costs of rearmament, failures of autarky.
Luckily I was right about consolidation/downfall coming up - they both did on Section B. I chose consolidation and thought I did pretty well at that. I mentioned: OVRA (1927), fascist violence toward socialists (inc. Matteotti Affair 1924 briefly), compromises with the elites (e.g. Church, King, big business), reliance on opposition mistakes (e.g. Aventine Seccession 1924) and legal and constitutional measures (e.g. Fascist Laws 1925, right to rule by decree January '26, etc...)
Maybe say 10/12 and 21/24 so 30/36 for Section B. That means, since grade boundary for an A is 51-54 marks roughly, I'll only need another 20-23 marks on the source part, which I'm hoping I've got. Even if I haven't, I did fairly well I reckon at Britain so that might drag my grade up.
How did you do? Hoping ya did alright (and everyone else failed so the UMS boundary is kind!) :P
