    Physics P3- Know nothing?
This if for the AQA GCSE Physics P3 exam on 30/12. [I think]

So yeah, basically I know nothing about this unit. My teacher literally doesn't teach us anything.

I achieved a B both in P2 and the practical work, so I do have relatively okay understanding of physics in general.

Do you think I can teach myself enough to get a B, or possibly an A in just under a week? I am willing to revise 2 hours straight per night for 6 days, giving me a total of 12 hours to do it in minimum. On the weekend I may do double that, giving me more like 16 hours, in reality.

    16 hours to learn P3.

So, does anyone have any advice, tips, hints, or study help that may be of use to me? I really need to get a B in this. Any help would honestly be appreciated so much

    Thanks

P3 really isn't that difficult i'm sure you could get a B(at least) with that many hours put into it! Just actually revise the topics first and go through past papers (especially Jan 2012 one) so you know a lot of what will come up. Some questions require exactly the same answer in all papers so you can practise those and you should have that B!

Yeah, I actually sat it in March along with P2. I studied a lot for P2, but barely opened by textbook for P3, and got a D. Pretty bad, I know :P Do you think it's best for me to study the topics quickly, then go back and re-do them for stuff I don't know, or to go through them all in detail, leaving little time at the end, for any last minute stuff?

I think you should go through the key points first, then do the past papers and anything you feel you're not sure about go over it in more detail I did it in January and I thought the paper was horrible but I got a good result anyway somehow! If you can not do any work on it and get a D, imagine how you could do with that much revision!

Oh, good idea, might just do that. I've actually already finished the first topic ( Turning forces ) way ahead of schedule, which is good. What did you get in your exam?

See you're already making progress haha!! I got an A, 83 UMS .. however hard I seemed to try I never got an A* in any physics modules. I don't mind though not picking it next year

An A is good If I got an A in this I would be over the moon, lol. I plan on doing it next year.

I guess my expectations are high, which means i'm disappointed easily ! Do you find any topics particularly hard?

I find it all reasonably easy to grasp except from the light section of the light & sound chapter. Drawing those diagrams of light going through the mirror, into the focal point... etc confuses me a lot. I'm currently trying to find some online resources that explain it better than the textbook What about you?

I used to love drawing ray diagrams!! How about youtube like : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lx2mqRy_1P0 ? I found the Generators and motors thing hard when I did it!

    I can't deny that P2 was hard.. I got 88A for P1 (1 mark off an A*) and 72B for P2 (1 mark up from a C)
I actually hate all that mathematical side of physics (not the simple calculations, just the graphs and stuff)
Yeah, I also think that the generators and motors stuff is my weak point, generally the
other stuff is pretty easy to grasp, and I really need to get an A* to balance out the units here..
