"Group" button/command greyed out in Word 2010

"Group" button/command greyed out in Word 2010I have copied and pasted two pictures into Word 2010 and want to Group them. Both pictures are currently pasted to the same page in the Word document. I can get to "Picture Tools" on the "Format" tab. Unfortunately, the "Group" button is greyed out and I do not know how to activate it. I'd greatly appreciate any help regarding this matter.

Have you selected them both at the same time by using ctrl+Left-click?
You may have to change the text wrapping to 'square' or similar.
