    Which program to use?
I'm doing some data input for a family friend for a bit of money while I'm in between jobs. Not exactly anything major - just addresses and phone numbers. Basically, he wants a digital address book (all the addresses he currently has of various people are scattered across pieces of paper and sticky notes...) He said he'd like it so that both the phone number and address of a person is included, but he can choose to print only the address off without the number if necessary (for attaching to envelopes and the like.)

Anyway, I have his computer, but he hasn't specified where or on what he'd like it done. I'm assuming Excel (for databases) but I want to double check with someone a bit more knowledgeable because there's a lot of information to put in the wrong place... so, would Excel be my best bet, or would you recommend something else? Bearing in mind the whole detachable phone number issue. Thanks in advance!

Depends on your knowledge. A more database orientated solution like Access, MySQL or anything like that would be best but Excel would do fine. You will have some trouble seperating out records and things like that which would be far easier to query in MySQL or even Access.
