    which newspapers are most biased/impartial
Which newspapers would you regard as the most 'biased' (i.e. they clearly take a particular viewpoint on controversial issues or portray events from a certain angle) and the most impartial?

Well, the ones which have a party affiliation. The Guardian is heavily on the left, the Telgraph is on the right. The Times is centre-right although fairly independent as of late and the Independent is pretty independent (although some accuse it of being centre-left). Tabloids are extremeties of all these.

I would say that the Times is the least independent, and the most ideologically driven

Least biased for news is the ft imo... The opinion is the pragmatic end of free market supporting.
The grauniad got pretty bad for editorialising the news but they might have pulled it back a bit.
Most biased 'the morning star' which they still stock in supermarkets in some parts of the country.

The Daily Mail is pretty biased.

The most impartial? Probably the Metro newspaper (I know, I'm a cheapskate).

    WHAT???

The Times is known as the voice of record, ie the least biased paper covering all spectra of opinions.

OP, The Daily Mail and The Guardian are two heavily biased newspapers.

Asking biased individuals to name biased newspapers, classic bro.

The Independent is left wing but it's probably the least dodgey, and tends not to endorse parties.

Some may say the Daily Mail and Daily Express are the most biased/impartial. I say they are the only ones that are accurate.

Biased and impartial have completely opposite meanings...

My bad. I copied and pasted the OP's title and meant to delete impartial.

The Sun and the Daily Mail are extremely right wing, and the Guardian leans very much to the left.

Left: Guardian, Observer, Mirror (?), Socialist Worker
    Unbiased: Independent, Financial Times
    Right: Times, Telegraph, Mail

I would personally support the Financial Times over all of the others.
