    Stray dog completes 1700km race.
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-18218878

"A stray dog has completed a 1700km journey across China after joining a cycle race from Sichuan province to Tibet.

The dog, nicknamed "Xiaosa", joined the cyclists after one of them gave him food.

He ran with them for 20 days, covering up to 60km a day, and climbing 12 mountains.

Cyclist Xiao Yong started a blog about Xiaosa's adventures, which had attracted around 40,000 fans by the end of the race.

Yong now hopes to adopt Xiaosa."

Not really news but kinda uplifting - at least it'll be adopted.

Forgive my scepticism, but this sounds like a manufactured soundbite for a slow news day....

Good job it didn't accidentally wander into Korea.

Well obviously there's some spin on it because really the story is "hungry stray dog follows people who gave it food". Doesn't sound quite so extraordinary when you put it that way. Yes it's a long way to go but presumably the people in the race took breaks.
