Btec then business degree at uni
I'm almost at the end of my first year of a btec extended diploma in IT and business and I am thinking of maybe doing a business related degree after. I'm pretty sure I will get DDD so what are my chances of getting offered a place at a decent uni? And has anyone here been in a similar situation to mine?

Why is this ?(Original post by saim101)
Firstly BTEC business isn't very good and to top it all of your going to do a Business degree from University which isn't any better. Apply for an Economics degree at university
This is just my and the employers opinion

Re: Btec then business degree at uniI'm sure University of Manchester ask for an A level alongside a BTEC?(Original post by Leo*)
The University of Manchester will accept DDD from BTEC ND for degrees at the business school.
Many other universities will do too, just have a look on some websites. -

Re: Btec then business degree at unireally? is economics at the top of the league table for employment?(Original post by saim101)
BTEC are all coursework. Universities don't like BTECs. Economics degree is one of the most prestigious degrees you can do.
I personally would disagree for example my degree is specialised in IT so your saying the IT roles I have been applying for .. of which I have been successful I would have done better with an economics degree? A HR role requires an economic degree?
Iv had three job offers for IT roles and although business/management is seen to be an easy degree employers are certainly not thinking this. My partner has a job with Deloitte he has a business/management degree so does my friend at PWC.. so is this not proof your idea is wrong? -
Re: Btec then business degree at uniTheir is a massive difference between a business management degree and a traditional Economics degree. Your comparing a paramedic to a doctor, they are not the same thing(Original post by gem89)
