Re: How to get rid of warts??Trouble with that is, i've heard that they use liquid nitrogen and that it is very painful.(Original post by Nutty_Psychologist)
you can go to your GP and have them frozen off. Probably will work better if you have quite a few -
Re: How to get rid of warts??Not so painful that they don't use it on children. There are multiple methods for removing warts anyway:(Original post by M4LLY)

Re: How to get rid of warts??I had it done for one on my finger when I was a lot younger(Original post by M4LLY)
Trouble with that is, i've heard that they use liquid nitrogen and that it is very painful.
It's a strange feeling but it hurts for like the first 5 seconds but then it just feels cold.
I would definatey reccomend it as it gets rid of them for good deffo whereas I couldn't get on with over the counter stuff -
Re: How to get rid of warts??
I had around 60 warts as a young child. As you can imagine I went tjrough a number of treatments which didn't seem to work too well. I think the virus might be internal, but I used to soak them in salt water. I don't know if it worked, or it was just coincidence, but they went. Just sit it out, they never last long, and they were on my face and my hands, and I rarely got any comments, and I have no trace of them or scars or anything now.

Re: How to get rid of warts??Trouble is, i've had 2 small warts in the said part of my foot for many years, they're never bothered me until the start of this year when one of them has suddenly begun to spread. It looks very ugly and i just want rid if it. Atm i'm using salicyclic acid.(Original post by Ursin)

Re: How to get rid of warts??I had a wart on my finger as a child and it wasn't really painful at all—it is certainly not 'very painful'. As an adult you will probably feel even less discomfort.(Original post by M4LLY)

Re: How to get rid of warts??Try the salt water. I also sut a door on my finger which squashed one of them, but maybe that's not such a good idea(Original post by Anonymous)

Re: How to get rid of warts??
I used to have a lot of quite sore ones on and around my big toe that I had for years and the one next to it and then it spread to being all over my hands....then eventually one day, they just all mysteriously disappeared. You can try all these various treatments for them, but the chances are quite likely that they will eventually just go away one day once your body is able to suppress the virus.

Re: How to get rid of warts??
Go to your GP! I went and they referred me to some foot specialist :P
For my wart they just removed the dead skin and put something like silver nitrate on I think. A wart has layers and layers of dead skin on top so it shouldn't hurt to get it removed professionally by a trained doctor
The whole point is that your body should then recognise it as a virus and fight it off itself.
I tried the duct tape method and it didn't work, and also had a rather bloody session trying to gouge it out myself... Don't try it. That one DOES hurt. -
Re: How to get rid of warts??
i remember one of my mum's friends mixing something with beetle leaves *i'm not sure* and it was some pinkish fluid or something.. and he used to put that on my wart for about 4 nights and after that it disappeared..I'm from sri lanka so yeah our families use all those traditional methods and stuff...the guy once accidentally put the fluid around the area of the wart as well and it stinged for quite some time..so yeah i had to put that specifically on the wart!

Re: How to get rid of warts??Instructions(Original post by Anonymous)
Ok so i have a small cluster of warts on the big toe of my right foot, they look very ugly and i would very much like to get rid of them. Can anyone recommend any effective treatments?
1 At the end of the day, carefully wash and dry your hands and the area surrounding the wart.
2 Peel a fresh garlic clove and slice it in half. Apply the freshly-cut garlic clove onto the wart, taking care to treat only the wart itself and not the surrounding skin. Discard the garlic.
3 Place a bandage over the wart. Leave the bandage on overnight.
4 In the morning, remove the bandage and carefully wash the area surrounding the wart again.
5 Repeat Steps 1 through 4 every night until the wart disappears, which usually happens after 2 to 6 weeks.
Tips & Warnings
Do not pick at, bite, cut, burn or otherwise try to physically trim the wart yourself. This will not remove the wart, and may even cause it to spread.
Although warts are unsightly, they are normally painless. If your warts are causing you pain, or if you have any other concerns, don't hesitate to see your doctor.
