Sales is not my thing. When does your internship start? I heard there will be about 7 interns at one time. I also heard they like Oxbridge especially since members of Oriel College founded the firm. Where you from? Oxbridge?

I meant Oriel specifically really..? I think its basically rotational anyway, your just based in your preference area. But there are various activities that you all do related to your preference desk (Research and stock pitch in sales. Acquisition pitch in corporate finance etc), a compliance day, networking events and a session with a headhunter learning how its done. 7 interns per week, 3 weeks. Then, if you impress you'll be considered for their longer term internship which she said was basically a grad role. Although theres no specific date for these, they start as needed throughout the year. I'm not from Oxbridge no. Finishing off (today actually) at KCL, Geography. Masters at LSE to come.

I only asked the original question to see if any one else was doing an internship with them. When do you start yours? We could be interning togther......................... ................................ ................................ .......................you could meet the mightly bloodbath in the flesh

I am not quite sure what the point of going to the interview was since if you were called for an interview then you would get an offer regardless. At least the program sounds really useful.

I'm starting tomorrow as well, pretty sure the whole week is rotational anyway so we get a good feeling for all areas of Oriel.
    Really cant wait!

First day was good, sitting on the Sales side, mainly with the Investment Fund team. Great to see how they operate and utilise Fidessa and Bloomberg. Start of the day quite slow, everyone finding their feet but after lunch really picked up, 14:30 as American Markets opened a new push of activity occurred. Sat with a trader too, very interesting!
You will have a good time!

Your going to have a really good time. So all of you of its similar to last week will meet up and just have an induction; so chatting about what you will be up to for the week. Your kept pretty busy I'm all the departments to be honest. You will be set a retailed research task which is good fun, a corporate research task and lots of activities throughout the week. If again its like our week then you will get in for. 8/8:30 on most days. But if you can get in for meetings at 7:30 I would reccomend it.
It's very eye opening and all the guys are great. Good luck!
