Found the exam pretty bad to be honest, didn't like the flowchart question, thought they shouldve made the algorithm easier so they could mark you on interpretation rather than thinking of how to make the system

I agree the flowchart question was a throw off.

Also the last question got me a bit when they started talking about the back plane I was trying to remember all the stuff on LCD displays and nearly missed that it was just an x-or gate

Not sure about the XOR gate. While this is what I constructed, didn't the question state that if Control is 0, the display should not illuminate? Although then it would just be C.NOT(B) , which didn't use the required amount of gates or the supplied OR gate.
Also managed to mess up the second part of this question, constructing my OR gate wrong (I put an additional NAND gate on the end as a NOT. Too long since ELEC1). It certainly looked nothing like this (see image); not sure if we were meant to simplify it. Probably, although I didn't. Click image for larger version.

And yeah, flow chart question... What the... Not really sure what it was asking. I calculated positive difference and used an undefined subroutine to "adjust focus". Probably wrong :/.
Rest of the paper went okay, as far as I can remember (which isn't much to be honest).

That flow chart question was ridiculous, could they have come up with a more ambiguous question?

Does anyone have any way of getting hold of the paper with solutions etc??
