Student from Chile interested in Warwick
    Hello everyone.

I’m from Santiago de Chile and I’m looking for a university to pursue my doctoral studies in Physics. I've been watchin all the Universities at the Russel Group, and the University of Warwick is my favourite choice in the U.K.

Warwick is among the best universities in the World according to rankings like ARWU, THES and QS. Besides, its school of mathematics fits very well to my research interests (nonlinear phenomena).

However, the extra-academic aspects are important for me as well. This is why I’m appealing to you in order to get some info about life cost in Coventry, accommodation, nightlife, sports, etc.

And what about the eye candy? Sorry, but I had to ask :P Eye candy in my campus SUCKS and I don’t wanna have the same experience again.

    So, ¿Can you help me?

    Love and peace.

Hey, I'm currently at Warwick as a 2nd year undergrad so should be able to answer some of your questions.

In terms of life in Coventry, it is not very nice at all. The night-life is rough and many students prefer to live in Leamington Spa as it is more 'student friendly'. However, many international students live in Earlsdon as they prefer to live close to campus. Basically, Earlsdon/Cov - not very nice but close to campus and very cheap (rooms for £60-75 per week), Leamington Spa - better nightlife, 30 minute bus drive away and more expensive.

In terms of eye candy, Warwick is not known for being particularly good sadly, so it's not the best. Sports are quite good and it's the best way to meet new people.

Don't come here for the night-life or eye candy. The best thing about it is it's good reputation.

    Hope that helps
