2nd shift at mcdonalds and ive got food posioning, need help by 7am tomorrow!!!
I started my new job at McDonald's last saturday, they offer a 3 week probationary period, my second shift was due to be tomorrow however, ive got food poisoning from eating a meal out (not from mcds lol), my doc has confirmed this as ive had bad sickness, he advised me to take 48 hours off work and if the symptoms persisted to return in 7 days, however, mcds has a policy about if your sick you must take 48 hours off, but will the rules be different because im a new started? could i pass this bug on? will i get the sack from it? im really ill and dont see how i could do a 8 hour shift feeling like this.. help please as i was planning to ring them at 7 in the morning (2 hours before my shift).

You want to ring them ASAP. You're going to be dealing with food, did you tell your doctor where you worked? I know I worked there a few years ago and I had food poisoning and was told to stay away for at least a week.

While you were at your doctors you should of really asked for a sick note so you have some kind of evidence to say you weren't lying.

You can't help getting ill, so they should be understanding. Let's face it, they wouldn't want you there, with a contagious stomach bug, preparing food for unwitting customers. I know it's a bit late now (hopefully you stayed home!). How did it turn out?
