Re: Is Leicester a good choice??
Leicester was by far my favourite uni which i visited (went to Sussex, Warwick, Nottingham, Swansea, Kent, Essex, Leicester) on open days...
it was the first uni down on my application and the first i got an offer from, now im hopeing to be a fresher come september/october, if all things go well
i think it had the best campus with nice new buildings and a great student village, also an o2 academy!
it is definately worth going to have a look! -
Re: Is Leicester a good choice??Come to an Open Day (they're all on the website) and find out if it's for you!(Original post by haedae)
I'm thinking of applying to the University of Leicester next year for archaeology. I have read about Leicester and some people like it, while others seem to hate it. Would Leicester be a good choice for me?
Everyone I know who's been here has loved it and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Whether it's for you depends. In the event that the offer for Archaeology is around your targets it's def worth a visit. Obviously, if you're predicted way below whatever the offer is it may not be worth it and if you've got a string of A*s at GCSE and A Level you'll probably look at Arch and Anth at Oxbridge first, but I'd still recommend Leicester for one of your other choices!
It's a good combo of a city uni (like Manchester or Bristol) and a campus uni (like Warwick) as it has a campus just outside of a city centre (similar to Birmingham if you've visited there). It is also really, really friendly and the halls are brilliant.
I'm a current Leicester student so just quote me if you have any questions
