What Else For Oxbridge??????
Hi,
Ive got 10 A*, 2 A's for GCSE. Will these and my AS level choices of Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Economics and History be enough for Oxbridge (A's in all of them probably)? What would you recommend i do as extra-curricular. I already have a job at a school 5 days a week before school, play in the school football team but what more will i need?

Re: What Else For Oxbridge??????
You'll probably need A*s in your AS levels if I'm honest. Your a-levels will depend on what you want to read. Maths requires A*A*A, whilst other subjects require A*AA or AAA.
Oxbridge don't care about extra-curricular activities, although it might be useful for your other uni choices, but I wouldn't go overboard - just do what you enjoy, what you're doing now seems fine.
Outside the curriculum, you need to show your passion for the subject you want to read by reading around the subject, going on taster days etc. -
Re: What Else For Oxbridge??????
All I can say is that even though extra-curriculars are really important, it's far more important to be passionate about your subject
Read around it, and that way, you'll have loads to talk about at interview.
Don't get me wrong, it's good to be involved in extra curricular activities (for your health as much as anything else...it's unhealthy to work all the time!), but they're truly not the most important things!
Just out of interest, what are you hoping to study? And do you hope to go to either Oxford or Cambridge? -

Re: What Else For Oxbridge??????I'd say you'd at least need twice that number of GCSEs. A couple of co-authored published papers wouldn't hurt either.(Original post by MattB1215)

But two A's will probably doom your application, so you might as well not even bother applying. -
