    Privacy at school? No?
A couple of days ago during school some of my friends were taking pictures of each other in class they all thought that the teacher didn't realise (it was a supply teacher). As taking pictures is banned same with taking your phone to school but lots of people still do it. the next day they got told that will get excluded because they had put the pictures on facebook. i don't know how the school realised this but one of my friends said that the IT people at school called up facebook so they could access the pupils pictures.

what do you think of this?

i still don't know how they knew that the pictures were put on facebook but i think that the supply teacher told the headmaster but i don't know because i wasn't in the class when the pictures were taken.

Hey that sounds like a violation of your private lives. I would have a fit if I were you.

Sure what you did in the classroom was wrong according to school rules but following you up for it out of school is totally wrong! You can PM me if you need to talk more.

At my old school they're was a problem with facebook and people mentioning teachers. The school ten told us thy regularly check the name of the school in all social media sites. This wasn't too bad, until the IT guy asked a favourite student off his to go to his office and look an I on Facebook. Pretty creepy and against privacy. But the whole 'calling up fb' thing sounds like ass, they most likely just go told by a pupil what happened and ask to look the pics

The school is allowed to confiscate a phone, but are not allowed to go through the phone.

It's like a school is allowed to search your blazer, but not your bag.

I highly doubt the school rang facebook and gained access to your friends facebook. I think you'll find your friends are stretching the truth a little.

As others have said its unlikely the school gained access to pupils' facebook pages by ringing up facebook etc, either the pupils had their privacy settings set to allow people outside of their friends to see the pictures or confessed to having put the photos on facebook without the school having actually seen the pictures. These kids are probably just trying to cover their own backs by saying the school has gone out of its way to access pupils facebook accounts. The fact is that the school is well within its rights to get involved in pupils online activity if it relates to the school. Cyberbullying is such a big issue now and the fact is that you are school kids you earn the right to privacy by showing you are responsible young people, if you misbehave and act like immature little kids then expect to be treated like kids and have no privacy.
