"Ain't no homo gonna make it to heaven"
Story.
This story was just annoying. Why are people still so prejudice. They can keep their views to themselves but making a young child learn such rubbish is ridiculous. I wonder whether he'll grow up still holding those views. I hope that he learns as he grows. It's unfortunate that he's in such an idiotic church.
When will people learn

It's partly the religion, partly their take on the religion. They believe their religion dictates these opinions either because they started believing it or because their parents did and raised them that way. It's a big issue and it's a great shame that beliefs like this and people with beilefs like this occupy such a great amount of the United States and that people like that play such a great role in their politics and society. It's really a negative. And because of that you have people like Michelle Bachman and Rick Santorum who are actually taken seriously.
I think politics (especially in the USA) would be so much more interesting if right wing Christians like this weren't taken seriously, and if they didn't have such a hold on the system. -

Reminds me of those idiots in the Westboro Baptist Church (God hates fags). At this rate, they're probably not going to make it to heaven either if it exists.
Well, I don't know about that. They're definitely nutcases, but they make for a good laugh. I mean, the Republican elections would be nowhere near as interesting if it wasn't for 'candidates' like Bachman or Herman Cain adding their own level of idiocy into the mix.(Original post by thunder_chunky)

I'm astonished and saddened that homosexuality is still unaccepted by so many people in the world in this day and age. How can people that cast out and shun gay people expect to go to heaven? I thought religion was supposed to teach love and peace yet some of the most intolerant people in the world seem to be deeply religious people...

Re: "Ain't no homo gonna make it to heaven"Maybe, but for all the entertainment their bigotry and stupidity provides, people actually vote for these people and they take them seriously, and because of it politics is corrupted (not to mention common sense.) If it didn't harm or effect people I wouldn't mind, but it does which is why it's really a word in the apple of politics.(Original post by Xotol)

Re: "Ain't no homo gonna make it to heaven"
The saddest thing is that, although they claim to be doing this because it's what the Bible says, that really isn't what the Bible says! According to a strict interpretation of the Old Testament, homosexuality is a sin. BUT it is a lesser sin than many others (eg. lying, jealousy, and others covered in the ten commandments).
And the point of Christianity is that everyone sins, in different ways, but that God's forgiveness is available to everyone, regardless of what they've done.
So the Bible says that gay people are just as entitled to salvation as straight people, and this prejudice is just that of these homophobes, which they are projecting onto the Bible.
