University Maintenance Loans/Grants
Right about now I am unbelievably confused about what's going on. I applied to Student Finance and I got my Loan(s) to pay for my course fees and some extra to live off of, both of which I will be paying back when I leave.
Well I got an email a month or so ago asking for me to send "Sponsor2 Financial Evidence". So I was wondering if anyone could tell me what that is? I sent of my mums P60 when we filled in the application form (we had to do it all by post) and my dad doesn't live with us any-more and hasn't for years so what exactly was it asking for? I have been told I am entitled to the loans as soon as I send the declaration form off, so I aren't sure what evidence they wanted.
Secondly, how do I apply for the maintenance grant (the non re-payable one). Is it automatically processed by student finance or do I have to fill in another form? I am aware there was a box/option to select to be evaluated for it (or something like that) but aside from that I have no idea.
I probably seem unbelievably stupid but Student Finance was no use as I rang up and the lady cut me off on the other end so I never got my question answered and my college tutor was lackadaisical to say the least. -
Re: University Maintenance Loans/Grants
To be assessed for the maintenance grant you have to have your application income assessed.
Have you provided proof that your mother is single? (ie divorce certificate, council tax bill showing single occupancy discount or a letter from a solicitor confirming she's single).
If you haven't provided this evidence then they will ask for both your parents financial information.
Without providing this evidence you will get the minimum maintenance loan only.
