Wondering how my chances are at a course in Imperial :)
Right, so I've just done my AS levels this year, I'm currently taking Double maths, Physics and Economics. I'm pretty set for an A* this year with maths, but the trouble is Physics and Economics. My physics grade this year may come out to be just under an A (damn my ISA score!) and as for Economics, I have no idea how well/badly I'm gonna do there.

I would like to take either a Electrical & Electronic Engineering masters or a mathematics course, and before anyone tells me to look up the entry requirements I have, but they only state the A level requirements, so my question is could I get an offer for an engineering course with say, A* Maths, B Phyiscs, and B Economics after my AS levels? (they ask for A*AA I think)

    Thanks!

Hi, I've got an offer to start Mechanical Engineering at Imperial in October, and my offer was an A* in Maths, and 3 A's in Physics, Economics and Further Maths...So I dunno how much leeway they give, but you might get through with an odd B in there oh and don't worry to much about that B in AS Physics, I got the same, then resat an exam, and i now on target for an A*...

Ah I see.. thank you for your advice, but I don't think my exam is going to be a problem, see I did really bad on my ISA, so bad that I essentially have to drop 10ums on each unit to get an A :/ at this stage it's still possible seeing as how low the grade boundaries for physics are but I'm still concerned. Is it possible to retake the ISA?

And do they only care about your overall A level grade? I ask because I could then technically get a B at AS and then a high A at A2 and that'll level out to an A overall? Or would I not be within a chance at an offer in that situation?

    Thanks!

Er, sorry I don't know if you can retake the ISA... But yeah I'm pretty sure they just look at your final A level grade, thats what they make the offers on...They just look at precitions and your AS grades to see if you would have a decent chance of meeting their entry requirements...
