    Absolutely loved The Ancestor's Tale, highly recommended. Can be a bit like wading through treacle, try the audio version perhaps, it seems to sink in better.

    Is it bad that I read this title as "I really need a poo poo"? I think my eye sight is a bit off today

    The Red Canary by Tim Birkhead - reads almost like a novel. Nature Via Nurture by Matt Ridley.

    I've picked up a few david attenborough books from charity books over the last gew years and they tend to describe some well chosen amazing bits from nature, though maybe slightly shallow on detail.
