    Re: hard drive
Buy a hard drive enclosure for a fiver off Amazon. Take the hard drive out of your laptop, put it in the enclosure. You can now use it as a USB drive.

    I have a laptop (Toshiba c650d)

The laptop don't boot but the hard drive seems fine by the sounds of it.

How would I go about getting the data from it?
Worth mentioning that if Gofre's suggestion does not work, then you're pretty buggered, unless you pay for professional data recovery.
