    Laptop/internet problems...help needed
I get internet through a dongle and since saturday, I have been having problems connecting to the internet (a problem i have never had before). Most of the times when i try to go on internet the same message always comes ("internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"), and when my laptop diagnosed the problem it said "the DNS server is not responding" On the rare occasions I can connect to the internet but I can only click on a few webpages before it says the webpage cannot be displayed again.
I have no idea what the DNS server is or how I would go about at fixing this problem...I am not very good with computers. Is this a problem with my donlge or a problem with my laptop?
    Thanks in advance

DNS is Domain name server, it holds all ip addresses which link you to the website.
It's more to do with your internet, i've had it before, it just went away over time but if it does continue call up your provider.

Funny you should say that because it started to work normally again today, so fingers crossed it won't happen again. Thanks for the reply

Yeah, DNS servers, like any servers online, sometimes play up. My recommendation is to use two name servers, one being the one your ISP provides you with, and the other being a service like open DNS. You can easily find guides online that will help you set this up.

Google's public DNS is probably what you're looking for.
