Scratched paintwork -rough cost?
So I scratched somebody's car as I was reversing, exchanged details. Nice lady who I vaguely know (she works at my granny's care home) she said she knows somebody who can fix it for cheap. I was wondering if someone could give me a rough idea of how much it would cost to fix-just want to prepare myself!
Attached the photos.

Re: Scratched paintwork -rough cost?
It's hard to see what the full extent of the damage is from the pictures, but the mark on the wing looks like it can be easily removed with some compound. As for the chrome strip, you'll just need to buy a new one from somewhere and fit it (looks like it might just clip on). You'd probably be looking at £30 on eBay for this.
Looks very unlikely that it'd need any sort of professional repair/paintwork.Last edited by JO53PHS; 11-06-2012 at 17:59. -
Thanks for this. I think I was unclear in my post-these are pictures of the car I hit and not my own (I only got a very tiny scratch) she says she knows somebody who'll give her a good price. Hopefully it won't be extortionate if this is face value of the work.(Original post by JO53PHS)

You might be looking at a couple of hundred quid if her repair man manages to convince her that the front wing needs painting. If this was your car you'd be able to make it 95% perfect for not much money at all, but it's really out of your hands now as to how much it's going to cost you.
