Re: Best job for Confidence?
Any customer facing role should give you confidence. I work on night shifts at burger king. I didn't have much confidence before, but it quickly grew when it grew apparent that a major aspect of the job was dealing with highly drunk customers. You'd be surprised how quickly your confidence can grow speaking to any sort of customer.

What is the best job to get so much confidence? I know they said doing what you enjoy but seeing the current economy what would be the best bet?
Fast food
Receptionist
Three great choices!

Re: Best job for Confidence?
Definitely anything client-facing, otherwise anything that makes you step out of your comfort zone. Call centre jobs might be good.
Difficult at first but helps you step out of your comfort zone which is what you should want
I dug this one up.

Re: Best job for Confidence? And why would you suddenly get lots of attention just cos you're doing bar work? Once you get past the age of... um.. about 15 the whole 'bar man' thing doesnt really do it any more. Only exception is holiday resorts where the bar staff have a bit of leyway to give out free drinks; so if the girl gives you a snog she might get some cheap vodka thrown down her neck. Working for any pub/club here you dont get that allowance so essentially you're just serving the pretty girl who then wants to go back with her friends. Its only the munters who want to stay and chat.(Original post by Elissabeth)
Hmmm, I would also like to know this.
Maybe working in a bar because the amount of attention you could suddenly get from the opposite sex could be a huge ego boost!
Anyway...... confidence can come from all types of job. Bar work is good cos its customer facing, but other jobs can increase confidence in different ways. I am/was a farmer by trade, and that gave me loads of confidence to have faith in my own abilities, not to worry about things, and gave me a real 'can do' attitude which you wont nessisarily get from being able to sell someone a drink. -
Get a job at KFC, McDonalds or Burger King.
My reasons:
-Not very difficult to get a job at these three places
-Sometimes the most obscure/retarded customers go there, so you will not only improve your confidence, but also learn to deal with challenging people e.g. if someone breaks down because they received 13 nuggets as opposed to 14.
Good luck.
