    Mobile app advertising
Does anyone on here have experience of developing mobile apps for more than one platform (e.g. iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone), with ads in them?

If you do, which platform and ad provider do you find the most profitable?

And if anyone has made any money from this sort of advertising, how much money did you make?

The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of doing this as a source of extra income, as an alternative to a job as they're so hard to get at the moment, and was wondering whether I could realistically expect it to work.

Depending on how much income you're looking for, it's really a stretch to get it to work.

For one, to be successful you'll need to actually develop a good app. It's a serious time commitment to do this properly. The apps that perform well for ad revenue are those that draw their users back to using them time and time again: not those that are opened once and promptly forgotten.

Imo you'd be very lucky to invest 100 hours and come out with £100 revenue.
