Re: A2 OCR ICT Coursework help!
Both ideas sound good to me. They will both work and you can definitely make a project out of both scenarios. I would just go with whichever scenario out of those two appeals to you the most because you will be working on this coursework for a long time.
I did a scenario that involved creating a new computer system for a client that currently runs a completely paper-based system. They were a self-employed carpet fitter that has various responsibilities such as ordering new stock, fitting carpets and generating invoices.
Other scenarios I've seen people use are:
- A gerbil emporium
- A hairdressing salon
- A garden centre
- A paint shop
I hope this helps, good luck with your coursework x -
Re: A2 OCR ICT Coursework help!
Hi everyone
I joined a new 6th form in september to complete the 2nd year (A2) with the hope of getting into university, but cause i can't do the AS coursework for ICT i had to do the exam: OCR G061 whilst keeping up with A2 Courework and exam theory for G062, i need a C overall in this subject to stand any chance of getting into Uni. But i got an E on results day yesterday, so that means i need to re-sit, i am fairly bright and in all the practice exams i was scoring B's
Is it realistic that i can acheive a C overall, bearing in mind i have to revise hard for 2 big ICT exams come June
i feel really low about it too, and would appreciate any advice about if this is realistic or not
Also what grades would i need to score in the exams to secure the C provided my coursework is at A / B standard
Thanks -
Re: A2 OCR ICT Coursework help!
My current project is a Database, and website system to provide customers ordering a game, from my invented company, a quicker ordering system than the current paper-based system. In addition, the database will contain the order details, which can be amended when an order is sent/dispatched depending whether they order a physical disc of the game or a download of it.
The standard platter for these projects seem to be stock control systems for a company that uses a paper-based system. That is what the rest of my class is doing, however I wanted to be different. I asked my teacher if I could program a simple game in Java but he told me to desist from that idea.
I need an A in this, to get my overall mark up to a B... the ridiculously marked papers yielded only a B and a (C/D?) for me. I am resitting the (C/D - which I'm unsure about, because I have had conflicting marks on results day regarding this paper, the AS one), in the hope that I can pull it to a B... but that's almost wistful thinking as the marking schematic is ridiculous. I hope I can get an A in the coursework, as it's frankly my best bet... I need a relatively mid-high A, too.
