MSc in Finance at Imperial or LSE??
    Hello,

i've got an offer for the M.Sc. in Finance from Imperial and LSE.

I got offered an 10000gbp scholarship from Imperial.
Can you tell which one is the better choice?

I would really appreciate some comments.
    Thanks.

I'd take the LSE program if I can afford it.

LSE if Imperial did not offer u the scholarship.

Imperial if u got the scholarship.

LSE has better reputation but I dun think it is worth GBP10,000 more. Plus you get to state you are a Imperial College Scholar in your resume which I think is not too shabby at all.

LSE is undoubtedly superior in Finance.
£10,000 is not an insignificant amount of money however.

LSE - much better for anything to do with Finance
Imperial - much better for anything to do with the Sciences (Maths, Bio, Chem, Phy)
However, with a scholarship and the fact that you could be attending Imperial (which is just below Oxbridge) is excellent on a CV. On the other hand, LSE is the 3rd best for Financial courses (below Oxbridge).
If you're concerned about the fees - Imperial
If you're wanting to go to one of the best Financial related Universities - LSE.

    Imperial, because of the scholarship.......
Both are well recognized, so will get you into the interview stage. The scholarship will differentiate you from the pack.

I can't help much with the decision but maybe my opinion can give you an idea.

After reading both programmes I really can't see why Lse is regarded as a better and more complete course than Imperial.

For as far as I see it Imp. is much more demanding but they're courses are just on another level from those of Lse. But then it depends on you and how much you care or think is relevant having the Lse brand on your curricula.

By the way why most of professors at Lse are Spaniards or French? (I don't know if it is the same at Imperial.)

LSE is above Imperial in the rankings.
LSE is by far the best university in Finance/Economics in the UK.

Sorry I was basing that off 2012's ranking, but I think for 2013, LSE is the top, followed by Oxford then Cambridge (for Economics). And for Accounting & Finance LSE is top.

Ahh..these are undergrad courses, not post grad master courses. Also, the one you've linked are overall rankings, there are no subject rankings for finance courses.

You're right about me posting it for Undergraduates
But there are league tables for specifics e.g Economics, Mechanical engineering, and Accounting & Economics.

ah, but economics and accounting are quite different from "finance", although mildly related.....you really cant take ranking tables for economics/accounting and compare it to a finance course.

Who cares? LSE is best for Finance related courses (after Oxbridge), and Imperial is the best for Sciences (after Oxbridge).

well, if you want to get into finance. You want to care because you want to get into the best course, which will get you hired! The rankings are based on selectivity, employment prospects as well as salaries 3 years after graduation, so you want to care!
