I did Applied (2/3rds coursework.) Supposedly softer than normal Business but at times it's death by coursework even if you do keep up with it. Some units are more work than others.

The A2 exam was one of the most annoying exams I've ever taken. It wouldn't be up there with the most challenging content (though A LOT harder than the AS exam) but it seems it has got a long history of being marked harshly.

Business Studies is the crap version of economics.

There is no reason to do it unless you want Universities to think that you are intellectually challenged.

^ It's a less challenging subject granted (I did both) but it gives you an overview of all Business dimensions, of which Economics is one.

If you enjoy Business, take it. You'll likely get a higher grade in something you enjoy, and I have known people enjoy Business and detest Economics.

Is the philosophy I carry

GCSE Business killed me, but it's an easy qualification to pass, and it gives a lot of knowledge that you'd need for life after A-Levels.

From what I've gathered at my school business has a more practical approach than economics, which more looks at theories etc. That being said, economics is much more highly regarded so if you're serious about going to university for a degree orientated in that direction economics would be better suited, if not both.

Ask your school/teachers, they know you and your capabilities the best!

No because I loathed it at GCSE
