    Does Mediocre GCSEs matter?
So, exam season is coming to an end for me and I only have three Sociology exams left. The thing is, I'm not feeling very confident and am dreading results day. Well, according to my teacher, I've got a B in English Language. I think passed both Art and English Literature (hopefully a C or if I'm lucky a B in those subjects), my Religious Studies exam didn't go amazingly (seriously hope I've scraped a C) and seeing as Sociology is one of my favourite subjects, I think I should get a C in that.
Luckily for me, I do BTEC courses for ASDAN and Science.

The problem is, my Citizenship, Information Technology and Maths exams didn't go all that well. I got a very low C for the ICT coursework and I got 19 out of 30 for the Citizenship coursework, although the exams for those two subjects weren't as bad as I thought they were, I'm just very uncertain whether I've passed it.

    I just KNOW I haven't passed Maths.

Hopefully, I pass Art, English Language, English Literature, Religious Studies and Sociology, I think my grades will mediocre (Cs). I won't get A*s and As like the other students. Feel quite sad. Eurgh!! I feel so disheartened. The thing is does having mediocre GCSEs matter? Is it bad that I'll pass 5 of my subjects.

Not if you're using 'does' to refer to a plural.

As long as you're not applying to Oxbridge, want to do medicine or anything else that requires good GCSEs then no I don't think so. All you really need is 5 passes including English and Maths.

Nope, don't worry, might be a struggle to get places at the top uni's though.

As InadequateJusticex said it will only really matter if you want to go onto highly academic things. as long as you've got some passes youll be fine

I'm sure you've heard a thousand stories of billionares and ceos getting mediocre /terrible exam results and being ridiculously successful . So don't worry about it , enjoy your summer and try and forget about them for the most part , that's what I'm trying to do
