Hi ! I applied to LCC - UAL and received an unconditional offer, but I still needed IELTS 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each of the four skills. I just passed the toefl and got 87 points (R25, W22, S20, L20). The chart of the university shows that I need more than 80 points (R18, W17, S20, L17). So, looks good, however, on the univerity's website, here what is bothering me: "English Language ability: applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate their competence in English to a minimum IELTS Level 6.5 for entry"... Who should I trust ? My offer letter or the website ? Thanks !

Your offer as shown on Track is the important thing. If that says you need IELTS 6.0 then you need 6.0.

So... I got into the university ! Should I receive something from the uni to confirm my place or whatever ? To confirm that they received my toefl scores, and everything is alright ?

It can say you need a 6.5 in IELTS but if you do take another acknowledged test by your university then it's just as good. Once you send your results they will modify your offer into an unconditional without that IELTS request.
As well, your university should let you knoiw through an email that they received your TOEFL results, or you could email/ call them to see everything is ok.

Even if my offer letter on UCAS asks me only 6.0 in IELTS ? I mean I already got the unconditional offer that I accepted; I passed the toefl, got the results, and now I just saw that difference on the website... Are they very strict about getting exactely 90 points ?

Well, from what I saw you said the university said on the website they wanted 80 points and you scored 87? This means that you are above the required grade for TOEFL, I have friends that applied to unis asking them IELTS but passed the Cambridge exam and they were accepted without any problems. You should email them and ask, but if they say on their website they accept TOEFL then you shouldn't worry.

And if I understood well that you are going to LCC, and your UCAS says IELTS with 6, this is the chart they offer for comparison http://www.arts.ac.uk/media/language...%20NQF%206.pdf so if they ask you for a 6 in IELTS that means min 80.

However, if they specifically required you a 6.5 in your letter/UCAS then you should call them and ask if your 87 in TOEFL is enough or you should sit an IELTS exam, which is easier imo, I passed it with 8.5 out of a maximum of 9 points available.

It doesn't matter what the uni website says. The offer as shown on Track is what's imprtant.

Okay, thank you both for your answer. Everything makes sense now. The problem was that the website of LCC asks a different score than my offer letter, but if the important score is what UCAS ask, everything's fine

Well, you need to send your result to the uni yourself - an email telling them will be fine. Then you should get a reply which should confirm your place.

Eventually your offer on UCAS Track will be updated to unconditional, but this can take a while. Some unis do it in batches, so you may be waiting until other students have met their offers too - or possibly even until results day. But this is just a formality as as long as you met your offer you're in.

At some point you'll need to apply for accommodation, as this may be fairly soon so check their website. You may also need to apply for student finance, if appropriate (probably not as you're international) and maybe even a visa.
