I haven't always wanted to study biochem. So my reasoning behind it is quite strange. It was a new interest i developed over the summer. What's your reason for studying biochem (other than its the most interesting thing in the world)

I study Genetics which is in the same degree group as biochem at my uni (biomolecular), so we share a lot of the same classes. I went that way because it's currently the easiest area of biology to get into research with and I'm hoping to be a university lecturer (at a Russell group university preferably) when I'm older so it's essential to get a PhD position in current research :P I like cancer research, plant science, and developmental biology in particular.

EDIT: I didn't decide I wanted to do biology until writing my UCAS application. And I didn't decide on Genetics as my area of biology until the end of my 2nd year of uni (roughly 2 months ago).
