hi,

i am trying to decide on my accommodation. i will be mainly at the guys campus. can anyone tell me a bit about great dover street, standford street and wolfson house. they are my top 3 choices at the moment and i dont know which order to put them in.

Hey mate...I know you wrote this a long time ago, but i write this message with every hope of a reply......I am a mature student starting dentistry in September at Kings and I have the same 3 top choices as u do here...Stamford street, Great Dover, and Wolfson (which im putting last as its shared toilets - Stamford i put first as it has a gym!). Was just wondering since you must have started there now, do you have any input or should I stick with the 3 choices in that order? Any help would be great, thanks mate!

Great Dover is right next to Guy's, I think Wolfson is also very very close. Stamford is a bit further at Waterloo, but still a 10 minute bus/bike ride.
Wolfon is very different from the other two because, as far as i know, it is not apartment style, not en-suite. Thus, it is much cheaper.
So Great Dover is very good location for Guy's, also quite expensive.
Stamford is bit further (still not that far at all) also quite expensive but, just like great dover, en suite and apartment style.
Wolfson house is a big dorm, good location for Guy's and cheaper.

It all comes down to your preferences, there is no universal order or anything...

im at wolfson right now. its great theres about 17 people on each floor, building and rooms are kinda 70's but theyre getting refurbished.

gds and ssa are from what ive heard hit and miss, depends on your flatmates, some blocks and flats are really dull and dead but others are amazing.


the reason i chose wolfson and luckily got it. is that its about £30 cheaper than the others per week. thats £30s more drinks and pocket change every week! imagine that!
