Consultancy - I missed the milk round. Now what?
So I missed the milk round. I'll be receiving my provisional degree classification next week.

I may have had a better chance of getting a job if I had met the milk round deadlines. But is it still too late for me? I know that some consultancy's have rolling recruitment. But is it better to apply now (potentially this reduces my chances) or wait till the milkround starts in sept/oct for 2013 entry?

So for example, a consultancy I looked at is still recruiting for 2012 entry. But 2013 entry applications open on July 1st. Bearing in mind that it will only accept one application from me every 12 months, is it better to apply for the 2012 or 2013 entry?

Please take into account that I'd like to start a job as soon as possible. With Jan/Feb 2013 being the latest I am willing to wait. I'm interested in management consultancy and strategy consultancy. I'm not from oxbridge (altho I am at a top 4/5 uni), so strategy consultancy seems like a long shot for me.

When are the normal starting dates?

The autumn term 2012 applications will usually interview before Christmas 12 and in Jan 13, with decisions by March 13 for one cohort to start in Oct 13 and another in April 14.

If you aren't 'willing to wait' you'll probably have to consider smaller organisations that don't have fixed grad intake points.
