Which Broadband Provider should I use?
We have had broadband and phone from BT for about 3 years but seem to exceed the usage limit nearly every month now. We currently get 40GB monthly download limit at 16Mbs for around £28 per month. Therefore we are thinking about change providers or package so we can get unlimited downloads as BT charges £5 for every 5GB over the limit.

I was thinking about going for virgin's package for about the same price for up to 30Mbs and unlimited internet but I have heard the speed plummets during peak time and the customer service is crap .
You can also get BT Infinity with up to 70Mbs and unlimited usage but it is £36 per month. :O

We (3 people) mainly use it for watching videos (on netflix, iplayer etc), browsing and online gaming.
Which package should we go for before we sign at 18 month stint with whatever provider? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Virgin broadband is probably the best bet. They have won good awards for their customer service and many customers are extremely happy with their customer service.

In regards to speed dropping, a friend of mine has Infinity - at the start : 42mbps, now after a year : 19.3mbps.

BT is well established, but tbh i wouldn't go with them for fibre optic. My vote is with virgin tbh

I used to have Virgin (10 Mbs package) and they were great - the speed hardly ever dropped. However where I live now, Virgin don't run a cable so we're using BT Infinity. They're faster but more expensive and the speed has dropped a bit since getting it.

This probably does depend a lot on what area you're in. I've found this site useful http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/ for comparing speeds - it showed that in my area everyone not on fibre-optic broadband was getting very slow speeds hence why we went for Infinity.
