    Whybrow
    Actus Reus essay
    3 Problem questions:
    1) Arthur notices Bella walking away from a cash dispenser holding some money which she has just withdrawn. Arthur comes up behind her and tries to grab the money. However, he slips on the pavement, knocking himself unconscious
    2) Charles has placed a large bet at a horse racing event. Realising that his horse is losing, he runs onto the race track in order to distract the horses and stop the race. His plan is successful as the race is abandoned. Charles is arrested on the race track
    3) Harvinder is paid a large sum of money to kill Ian, a well known celebrity. Harvinder knows Ian is to open a new supermarket, so he sets himself up with a rifle on top of a building opposite in order to kill him. However, unknown to Harvinder, Ian has been taken ill and has had to cancel his appearance.

No, I really don't- because it's not a big topic in it's own right. As I said mens rea and impossibility is extremely likely, I have a bunch of potential quotes that I found if you want them for the essay question?

ok, two I've done in a question form:
'It is said that the preferred solution is to require the same mens rea for the attempted offence as the full offence’ Consider the way in which the above statement reflects the current law on mens rea and the issues of impossibility in light of this statement.
‘If you are saying that someone is attempting to bring about a result you are saying that he intends to achieve that result’ Consider the way the courts have developed the mens rea of attempts and the issues of impossibility in light of the above statement. [35]
The other one is in source 1 lines 1
