    Concerned about wrong insurance
I have two offers: one firm offer from NTU and one offer I insured from BCU. I've been thinking hard about it and I am not sure I really want to go to my insurance anymore. It's a very new course so the only people that have graduating will be finishing this year and I can't be sure it will lead to a career I want.

I don't know whether I should just decline it right now, or wait and see what happens. I want to go to my firm choice so badly, but the thing I am most worried about is that I won't meet my grade requirements for it. If I decline my insurance and then dont meet my firm grades then where will that leave me...

I'm so stressed at the moment, my future seems completely unclear. I just could really do with a bit of help with this. I just want things to work out

There's no rush to decide right now, you do have some time to think it over. Don't do anything until you have decided, because it's very hard to reverse, but try to decide and (if applicable) get it done before August 9th.

If you fail to get into your firm and have declined your insurance, that will leave you in Clearing. A lot of people do very well in Clearing, so this isn't the end of the world and may in fact be a good thing.

Thanks. I was planning to leave things until results day but I heard then that if you do ask on results day your uni will take longer to release you and then you're delayed getting into clearing. How am I supposed to decide what the best thing is?

That's right it can take them longer to release you on results day. This is because if they have spare places to fill they will be concentrating on people ringing up trying to get them rather than the person who wants to drop out and create yet another space they need to fill.

What you need to do is pretend it is results day and you have missed your offer, would you want to turn down a guaranteed place at your insurance for the chance to get in somewhere else through Clearing? If you decide you would then you need to ask your insurance to reject you, you will then either get into your firm or go into Clearing on results day.
