Made a fatal mistake on personal statement
I just sent of my personal statement and realised I made a fatal mistake. I sent a little part I wrote up as draft in brackets to reminder me to add something there "My favourite Building in my area is[.........add it yourself] my
favourite vantage point" and it now appears that I copied something when I didnt ARGH! is this a big deal and will it effect my chances? I'm so worried

Phone UCAS first thing tomorrow, you may be able to alter it before they send it to the universities.

Is it actually with UCAS yet, or is it with your referee?

And are you applying through school?

If so: that won't be with UCAS yet - the school need to add the reference, then send it off to UCAS. Go in early tomorrow, find the person that it's with and ask them to send it back to you. You can change the PS and submit it again.

I'm not applying thru school/college sorry I should've been more specific I'm a mature student doing a pre access course at college at the moment, I applied by myself and I just paid a late fee to apply before June the 30th.

In that case, phoning UCAS is the best way forward.

Also, a late fee? There shouldn't be any late fees...

Well, if it makes you feel better my friend got owned because he applied for optometry and wrote in his personal statement "I've always had an eye for this course" without realizing and ended up getting rejected everywhere!

In a maths PS, I used the phrase "I derive enjoyment from mathematics".
