    The book is correct

    Look after you equation where you multiplied by -1/3
    -\frac{1}{3}\cdot (-\frac{3}{\sqrt{2}})=\frac{1}{ \sqrt{2}}
    Moreover
    \frac{1}{\sqrt{2}}+\frac{1}{\sqr t{2}}=\sqrt{2}

    Book's right for the tangent, as ztibor says.
