    Career development loan application help
Hi guys just wondering if anyone out there who's applied for a cdl before can give me a little advice on the do's and don'ts of the application process.

I've been accepted onto a masters course in software development starting in september, I've got the application forms for both barclays and co op, my plan is to apply for barclays this week and if they turn me down try the co op next month. I've been reading on here that some people have had a real nightmare in the past trying to get barclays to even accept the forms so I'm trying to make sure I have everything 100% correct before I send it off.

My main sticking point at the minute is what to put down in the employment section of the forms, I'm working full time at the minute but plan to either have my hours drastically reduced or quit my current job and find part time work elsewhere once the course starts. Should I put down what my current working hours are or what I expect to be working when I begin studying?

I understand that you can only apply for 80% of the course fees if you're not unemployed, is it possible to apply for money for living expenses as well or whould this hurt my application?

sorry about the wall of text, any advice or help it all would be much appreciated

    thanks

Re: Career development loan application help
hi - i helped my other half fill in the same forms last year.

firstly - from advice we got from the bank fill it in for your situation when you are doing the course. so the reduced hours that you are aiming to do.
As far as I remember its 80% of course fees with a max of 10,000 that can be borrowed?
eg: his fees were 12,000 so he got 8,000 and then 2,000 towards living expences.
So it won't harm your application I shouldnt think because the point of these loans is to cover your fees and living expenses etc.

only other advise would be to spend some money and get the forms delivered by recorded mail whenever you send stuff! my boyfriend got his loan accepted and then sent off the forms to confirm but those forms went missing so had to fill everything in from the start again! was a bit stressful!

    Good luck to you!
