Well firstly check your motherboard for the support.
    What the name of it?

6850 HD for £85 is the best on offer for under £100...........secondly you'll have to change your power supply to do 500watt+.

    It only supports these
    AMD Phenom II X4 9xx/9xxe/8xx Quad-Core (Deneb)
    AMD Phenom II X3 7xx/7xxe Triple-Core (Heka)
AMD Phenom II X2 5xx (Callisto)
AMD II Athlon X4 6xx/6xxe (Propus)
AMD II Athlon X3 4xx/4xxe (Rana)
AMD II Athlon X2 2xx/2xxe (Regor)
    AMD Sempron 1xx (Sargas)

and is any power supply compatible?

Also, how good is DVI quality compared to HDMI? since I think HDMI resolution is slightly less than DVI.

Well the AMD Phenom II X4 is actually pretty good, doing better than the reviews for the new range.
If your serious about it, than you'll have to look at the black edition. Especially if your doing any gaming.

Pretty much, but it would be recommended to get a branded one which 80plus certified, shows some efficiency.

Not sure to be honest about the wiring........but the 6850 HD has eye finity, which is the software they use for multiple screens.

Black edition for the CPU means it's easy to overclock basically.

Black edition of the graphics card doesn't really mean anything. It's just a name the brand XFX came up with to use on their AMD cards.

It's overclockable so if in the future you need a performance boost, get a aftermarket cooler and push the speed.
Also I the cores with AMD, are blocked for a X4 is really the X6 with 2 cores disabled...which can be re-enabled.
