    Everybody who can, please help?
As we all know, Syria is currently in a really bad situation with many innocent civilians killed every day. Maybe it is because Syria is my country that I feel the need to send the message across for people to help in any way, shape or form. Even the tiniest amount of support means a lot to me and for those back home, so please be kind and offer to help.

The following two websites include a link to donate money to Syria, all it is is a few clicks and it's over If you are willing to, please donate.

    http://www.redcross.org.uk/
    http://www.islamic-relief.org.uk/

Help send this message across on the internet and your community. Let us work together to save innocent lives from brutal murder and to help Syria to rise into a nation once again!

Thank you and may Allah bless all of you

PS this has absolutely nothing to do with whether if you are a Muslim or not.

No, it's not hard. What is hard is knowing that any donation provided will achieve anything worthwhile. The two charities that you have linked to are both very worthy and both have long records of carrying out vital, life-saving work but the problem is the situation in Syria.

As an uninformed, uninvolved foreigner, the way I see it is that neither side has any intention of talking to the other, not least because they have very little to gain from doing so. If Assad remains in power, there is every likelihood that he will continue killing his own people. If he is removed, there is every likelihood that he will be replaced by an Islamic fundamentalist regime which will have insufficient popular support, thereby prolonging the unrest (probably made worse by Western governments sticking their collective oars in).

Even though I've probably got some of the details wrong and even though I understand how painful the situation must be for you, I can't help thinking that there are so many other good causes out there that are equally worthy but with a greater likelihood of success.

    That's what makes it hard.
