Damaged Ipod Touch
I think its a second generation Ipod touch and its damaged. Impossible to restore to original settings. Tried to on a Windows PC (windows 7) also got a "apple priest" to do it in the apple shop on one of their mac computers. I think the guy said they stopped selling them a year ago, so its probably a year and a half old. Anything I can do to get it repaired or put it on some kind of insurance ?
The guy said I would have to dish out £80 just to get it replaced or something.
Please help, it was a gift. -

They will post an envelope out to you so you can send your iPod to them (wipe the data first if possible), and they will replace your old one with a refurbished model

Re: Damaged Ipod TouchNothing else can be done to get a new one or just fix mine? Refurbished, is 2nd hand with wear and tear marks right?(Original post by AmyJ)

Re: Damaged Ipod TouchIf the staff in the Apple shop can't fix it, I don't think there is much hope for it. You could always try a different store, try and get them to "diagnose" the fault...but if you send it back to Apple for a "repair", you'll get a refurb back automatically, it's standard policy. Refurbs won't have any wear and tear marks - they're 2nd-hand models that have been gutted and re-fitted good as new. I sent a battered 80gb 2007 iPod Classic to Apple because the battery was dying after 5 years and the screen had some dead pixels - they sent me back a 160gb Classic in perfect condition and it's been working flawlessly since then(Original post by Jiraya Sama)
