Help cancelling 24 month contract with orange
Hello fellow student members,
Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask but this is something that needs urgent attention too. As the title says I wish to cancel my contract with orange. I have looked up on the internet and there's many obstacles in your way that stop you from doing this but the reasons why I wish to cancel my contract is purely down to faulty phones and customer service.
I've had the contract for 8 months prior to next month but within those 8 months I have had 4 replacements phones either because of the battery not charging the handset itself is faulty blah blah just general problems. I requested a different model which was denied by the manager and all they would give me is 'a brand new same model fresh out the box' option but I've always had problems with the blackberry curve 8520 so knowing that I don't want that I wish to cancel my contract. I have already went to a different network provider (t-mobile) and ordered my contract through them via buymobilephones.net as they have great deals (which my order hasn't been approved yet)
The question I have to ask is what are they doing to throw my way ? Is there anyway I can cancel my contract due to faulty phones etc ?
I have been told a few lies over the phone regarding the call back time of the manager and the general service with people not getting what you mean and doing the total other thing from what you want and had to phone up 5 times yesterday to get the manager to phone me back and possible adding all that together over the last 3 days it comes to around 12 calls regarding one issue.
I hope you can help me on this as I need to contract to be cancelled as soon as possible.
Thank you.Last edited by SouthSide; 27-04-2012 at 14:38. -

As with many mobile phone contracts these days, the phone you received with your contract was basically a free extra to convince you to take out a 24 month phone plan. It isn't actually part of the contract itself. Therefore if it breaks it does not render the contract void. Orange may help you replace your phone if it breaks under their own warranty, but you can't just end your contract because its broken.
My advise would be to cancel your buymobilephones contract ASAP since you get a few days to cancel at the start of your contract - if not you'll be paying for 2 contracts at the same time and there's no way to stop either until they expire. Also I would possibly get Orange to replace your broken Blackberry and sell the new one on Ebay. With the money you make out of this you can buy another phone (although outright and not on a contract obviously).
