What to watch after Prometheus?

Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

    this

That said alien vs predator wasn't as bad as people make it out to be-it knows what it is (which is more than I can say for prometheus)

Thanks for the suggestion guys Alien was awesome! So cool to see how the two films linked with each other and the quality was surprisingly crisp for such an old film.

Aliens next. It's less sci-fi/horror and more action, expected with James Cameron directing.

    Predator 1 and 2 are a must.
there are so many good scifis with that feel eg Moon and Sunshine.

    oh shiiiiit ;o

    I'd put them about equal.

As for other sci fi films.... Solaris, Sky Blue, Event Horizon, Sunshine.

Fincher cut of Alien 3 is quite good imo, main thing that lets it down is that ****ty CGI alien that looks like a blob. Repped for Event Horizon.

    Sunshine.
The name is incredibly unappealing really; I thought it was a film about a picnic at first.

I wish they had stuck to men in silly suits too. It makes me sad that the chances of seeing an uncut Event Horizon are basically nil. Stupid ****ing studios and producers and their 'ooooh nooooo, you better take out this violence'. IIRC there's something like 30 minutes missing. A few of the scenes made it into one of the latest releases but they're kinda dodgy quality, and a bunch of it seems to have been lost completely. If the director wants something in the film then it should be in the ****ing film.

The original alien films (my dad re-watched the first one yesterday after we saw the film with his friend on Thursday) or Alien vs Predator. That's if you want gory alien movies. If not then Avatar.
